THE BRAZILIAN SOIL SPECTRAL LIBRARY
FINANCING
The BSSL project doesn’t have its own financial resources, however, it will be submitted to institutions in order to have its maintenance. The technical team will contribute with the installation use, such as labs to the sampling packaging and data acquisition, equipment use and spectral readings which will be transferred to the ORIGINATORS. On the other hand, each participant should send its samples with the respective analysis.
ANNOUNCEMENT
Initially the announcement of project information (importance, objectives, methodologies and expected results), and technical team and collaborators (originators) names will be found in our website page (in portuguese: http://bibliotecaespectral.wix.com/esalq; or in english http://bibliotecaespectral.wix.com/english). The theory about the addressed theme, with the presentation of basic spectra and possible applications will be presented as well.
STRENGTHENING DYNAMICS OF THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY THROUGH BSSL
This topic is better detailed in the regulatory norms described in attachment. By the project end, all data will be available and concentrated in only one place. All participants will have data access, but in a collaborative way. In other words, each one will be responsible for his/her own material, including password. At this way, if a group from the Northeast Region, for example, wants to compare its data with a group from South Region, it should go to the webpage, see who are the researchers from the concerned region and contact them, thus being able to work and publish together. This will be valid to all participants. If any group wants to use data from the whole national territory, it will be possible as well, but the group will have to contact the ones who are involved. This strategy aims to narrow and strengthen the relations and cooperation between diverse Brazil’s research groups, beyond creation of new poles. In addition, the established system organizes and regulates itself regarding the participation in future work derived from BSSL project, because the groups that cooperate may have this control. If in the future some group believes it is appropriate to place data on the internet for free access, it is up to each participant to allow whether or not such an attitude.
